Cybersecurity Channels Expand Their Focus From Human Risk to AI Agents
Cybersecurity programmes have traditionally concentrated on human behaviour: recognising phishing attempts, protecting credentials and questioning suspicious requests. The rapid adoption of autonomous AI is creating a second operating population for security teams to govern — software agents that can access information, communicate with other systems and initiate work.
The expansion of a European cybersecurity distribution partnership offers a useful signal of how quickly that shift is reaching the channel. Infinigate Group and KnowBe4 have extended their existing UK and Ireland relationship across Benelux, the Nordic countries and Eastern Europe.
Through the agreement, Infinigate’s channel partners will gain access to KnowBe4’s portfolio of security awareness, attack simulation, email and collaboration protection, and AI agent security products. The companies say the combined offer is intended to address risks including phishing, business email compromise, deepfakes, data loss, social engineering, prompt injection and shadow AI.
Security teams now have two kinds of behaviour to govern
The most significant element of the announcement is not its geographic reach. It is the way the partnership groups human risk and AI-agent risk within the same security proposition.
Employees remain a major target for attackers, but autonomous systems introduce different questions. An AI agent may be authorised to read sensitive information, send messages, make recommendations or trigger actions at a speed and scale no human user could match. A poorly configured agent, an exposed prompt or an excessive permission can therefore become an operational vulnerability rather than simply a technical flaw.
Cybersecurity is becoming a question of governing people and autonomous systems together.
KnowBe4 describes its platform as a combination of security awareness training, simulated attacks, email and collaboration security, and an Agent Risk Management capability. According to the company, the latter is designed to discover AI agents, assess their risk and help organisations monitor their behaviour.
Why the channel matters
For customers, the value of a distribution agreement depends on what happens after a product becomes available. Cybersecurity tools increasingly need to fit local buying processes, regulatory expectations, existing technology estates and the working practices of internal security teams.
Distributors and resellers can play an important role in that translation. They provide local market knowledge, technical support, sales enablement and integration expertise, helping businesses move from a product claim to a workable deployment.
Infinigate Chief Growth Officer Kai Grunwitz said the expansion reflects the growing importance of managing both human and AI-related risk. He argued that the partnership would give channel partners more tools to help customers strengthen resilience while adopting AI.
KnowBe4 Channel Chief Kurt Mills said the wider agreement builds on the companies’ work in the UK and Ireland, highlighting Infinigate’s cybersecurity expertise and its sales, technical and marketing resources.
Behavioural evidence remains central
KnowBe4 says more than 70,000 organisations use its platform and that its approach draws on more than 15 years of behavioural data. Those figures are supplier claims, but they point to an important distinction in the market: effective cyber defence is not only about identifying threats. It is also about understanding how people and systems behave when a threat appears.
That creates a growing measurement challenge. Organisations will need to assess whether training changes employee decisions, whether controls reduce exposure, and whether AI agents continue to operate within their intended boundaries. Dashboards alone will not answer those questions unless the underlying data is clear, comparable and connected to business outcomes.
The next challenge is integration
KnowBe4 has also been approved for Microsoft’s Integrated Cloud Email Security vendor ecosystem. That may make its services easier to incorporate into Microsoft-centred security environments, but buyers should still examine how the different layers of protection work together.
Useful procurement questions include how identities and permissions are managed, what audit records are retained, how unusual agent behaviour is detected and who is responsible when an autonomous system takes an unsafe action. Businesses should also establish where human review is mandatory and how quickly access can be withdrawn during an incident.
The strongest security proposition will be the one that connects technology, behaviour and accountability. As AI agents move from controlled trials into everyday workflows, channel partners will be expected to help customers make that connection rather than simply add another product to the stack.
